Auckland City Library Cafe |
When feedback indicated that Auckland Central City Library's customers wanted a cafe, Auckland City Council commissioned RDT Pacifc to provide project and cost management services. By making the library more visible from the street and creating another entrance, the upgrade also solved two other problems for the facility. The cafe project was the first phase of a 20-year plan for the library, which is part of the council's 'Into the future' strategy for Auckland's CBD.
This building won a Merit Award at the Property Council of New Zealand Awards. The the true testament to the project’s success being the Library Manager’s belief that if the project were to be done all over again, she would not change a thing.
